The Sam Cooke Fan Club
The Sam Cooke Fan Club (SCFC) is an organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of Sam Cooke, considered by music historians as "the man who invented soul." Many of our fan club members gather yearly not only to honor and remember Sam Cooke, but to visit with Sam's family and fans. We have begun to announce details for the sixth tribute. Sixth Tribute Announced
The Sam Cooke Fan Club is pleased to announce that the Planning Committee has reconvened and is curently working on plans for the 6th Sam Cooke Tribute, which has been tentatively scheduled for the Spring (April-May) of 2011. We expect to have an official announcement of the exact date for the event very soon. Please check back for further updates.
The Planning Committee is also pleased to announce that Gwen Greene, Sam's niece, has joined the committee and will assist with the planning. Erik Greene, Sam's great nephew, is now also an official member of the committee.
The Planning Committee is comprised of the following members: Greg Alldredge, Toni Cook Howard, Don Piper, Amanda Spurlin, Calvin Graham, Eli Williams, Starr Lusk, Jack Kaplan, Gwen Greene and Erik Greene.
